The Unemployed King
Being Employed isn't for you
Ralph, The Unemployed King, hates working and will do everything he can to get himself fired from every job.
Whether that's pouring ice into the fryer, or serving raw food, he's every managers worst nightmare.
INSTRUCTIONS
Walk up to objects around the environment and a prompt will appear with options for what you can do
For level 2, the prompts for the fryer and the frying pan do not show but the objects work. The fryer will cook fish, chips, and can be overflowed by pouring ICE into it.
The frying pan can be used to cook burgers.
Sometimes, when you have food in your possession, you can press space to eat the food
The goal of each level is to increase the Manager Anger bar to 100 to then become fired. Each level has between 5-10 unique methods for annoying the manager
All of these methods reset on new game
Known Bugs
Level 2 should be fully functional (except for some prompts not showing up by objects). There is an issue where serving the first plate won't show any response from the server. The response will happen on the second serving, or if both servings are done at once.
The player can restart dialogue with the Work Search Coach. This doesn't affect gameplay at all but can look visually weird.
Some inventory item sprites don't disappear from your inventory after use. This is something I will have fixed soon
The game currently uses a wait system between dialogues and for level changes, this is usually set between 2-4 seconds. The game might appear frozen when changing levels or when ending dialogue is on screen because of this, but just wait a few more seconds
IMPORTANT NOTES
This is a demo for The Unemployed King, I've been working on it for about 3 weeks and I'm looking for feedback on the idea and gameplay loop.
There is currently no restart system in the game, if you wish to restart then get to the end of the game and then return to the main menu, or refresh your browser page

definitely a bit short but that's normal for a demo, also a little too easy
also i think it might be better to tell the player beforehand that the game uses mouse and keyboard. i was a little confused on what to use. keep up the good work
Thank you, I'll defo make it harder and require more actions in the later levels, and will make the controls more obvious (or change it to keyboard only), <3
